The ground

Built by the club

In the early years the Grove played on the Vickers and Goodwin pitch near the A50. In 1961 the club made a bold decision: step away from league football for a season and build a home of its own on Hollinwood Road, in the Clough Hall area of Kidsgrove.

It has been home ever since. Its biggest day came on 21 March 1998, when 1,903 supporters packed in for the FA Vase semi-final against Tiverton Town. Today, as The Fitzjohn Stadium, it hosts Northern Premier League football on Saturday afternoons and under the floodlights midweek.
